A frigate flying the French colors has arrived in lake Ponchartrain and is currently negotiating to dock and pursue commerce in our fine city. This is the third such ship since the Pirate Attacks of some time ago.  Many of the ships seem to originate from Tortuga or the Surrounding Islands and appear to be quite unaware that they are nearly three hundred years late in their shipments.
These ships typically bring spices, sugar and other exotic goods to trade for meat, vegetables and other consumables.
The rum distillery hopes to purchase a volume of Molasses if the traders have it and hope to have a good batch of Rum for Carnival in February.
