Probes possibility of poetic connection
New Orleans
September 21, 1929

Samuel Liddell Mathers is preparing for an unparalleled attempt at reconnecting with the world that sits beyond the borders of New Orleans. The illustrious Golden Dawn Temple Master believes that he may be able to reach out astrally to his wife, should she be alive, through the ether and perhaps even open a gate in this manner.

When contacted, a preeminent yet unidentified Penn State scientist implied that it could not be done “…Because thats not how it works, it requires a knowledge of thermodynamics, brane theory and econ!”

Despite this skepticism, Mathers intends to perform his ritual and send himself as far as he can within the next four weeks. “There is a distinct possibility that the magickal nature of New Orleans will allow such a thing to happen,” says Mathers Associate and fellow Golden Dawn member Tom Anderson. “Of course, we will be ready for whatever we need to do to make contact with the world beyond and bring sunlight, and days back to our beloved city,” concluded Anderson.

New Orleans Arch Diocese begins cleaning house.

New Orleans-
September 21, 1929

Cardinals Bordeaux and Tamburo announced today through Archbishop Finn that The Church had uncovered members of the criminal esoteric sect “The Claws of Apophis” within the ranks of its clergy. The Inquisition was convened at 3 AM in New Orleans with the arrest of several Priests and Nuns by members of Dextra Deus and Inquisitors from within the church. The prisoners were brought before a tribunal and all confessed to heresy and attempting to undermine the Law of God.

The crimes included were mostly of an Esoteric Nature, including worship of a heathen deity or entity, practices of necromancy, sex magick, and harvesting organs from a human body. The convicted were put to death at noon today in a undisclosed section of The Cede. Citizens with knowledge of Clerics practicing necromancy or organ harvesting should report their information directly to the Archbishop’s office during normal business hours.

When contacted, the Arch-Diocese stated that these events had been a long time coming and that they had “taken every opportunity to allow those who were convicted to mend their ways; however, once lost to darkness, some never find the light.”
